Jets' Fantasy Report: One Absolute Must Start against Eagles in Week 6

Running back surging, appears ready to reclaim Top 10 status

The New York Jets' fantasy football prospects plummeted when Aaron Rodgers was injured in Week 1, but one particular player continues to gain relevancy.

While receiver Garrett Wilson's statistical production has yet to match his average draft position, the Jets' starting running back appears ready to claim RB1 status in your fantasy league.

Breece Hall's value dropped when he started training camp on the physically unable to perform list, but the second-year pro has seemingly returned to full health. Last Sunday, Hall rewarded all those fantasy managers who stuck with him through a few weeks of uncertainty. He rushed for more yards than any NFL player in Week 5.

While it's certainly not time to give up on Wilson, Hall is clearly the fantasy stud on this team right now.

Two quick notes prior to examining the Jets Country MUST START of the week. 1) The Jets' defense is also worth rostering, although stay away from starting them against the Philadelphia Eagles in Week 6. Yes, they piled up the defensive points in Denver, but they'll be without four cornerbacks for the October 15 home game. 2) Keep on eye on tight end Tyler Conklin. He may prove deserving of a waiver wire pickup.

MUST START: Breece Hall, RB

Yes, Philadelphia owns the top-ranked run defense in the NFL, but Hall should get a healthy number of touches and the electrifying ball carrier is hitting his stride.

Ready for a full workload, Hall rushed a career-high 22 times against the Broncos. He totaled 194 scrimmage yards on 25 touches.

That volume is more than enough reason to rate Hall as a top RB option in Week 6. You'd be hard pressed to find a back that gets even 15 touches per game in today's NFL.

Then, there's the fact that Hall was sensational in the featured role as he tore up Denver for 177 yards on the ground. His 72-yard touchdown sprint gave the Jets the lead for good, sending them on the way to a 31-21 road win. Hall hit 21.5 miles per hour on the TD run, the eight-fastest speed achieved by an NFL ball carrier this season (Next Gen Stats).

"Breece was out of his mind. He was definitely feeling it," said Jets' offensive coordinator Nathaniel Hackett on Thursday.

Hall's 7.2 yards per carry average is the second highest in the league. The only knock is his lack of touchdowns, but the home run hitter has the ability to improve that number in a hurry.

Eagles' defensive tackle Jalen Carter being out also helps Hall's prospects this Sunday.
