Jason Brownlee's ascension continues with the Jets.

The undrafted rookie receiver went from junior college to Division I FBS Southern Mississippi and then onto an NFL team's 90-man roster.

Brownlee was a consistent producer for Southern Miss, leading the Golden Eagles in receiving for three consecutive seasons. In 2022, he accounted for 891 receiving yards, nearly one-third of the team total.

The 6-foot-2 Brownlee performed well during the pre-draft process, starting with his week at the NFLPA Collegiate Bowl in Pasadena. He gained 78 yards receiving in the senior all-star showcase.

After nabbing a NFL Combine invite, Brownlee recorded a pedestrian 40-yard dash (4.59), but scored high in the jumps. He produced fifth-highest vertical jump (39.5") amongst receiver participants, only one-half inch behind Top 75 pick Jalin Hyatt. His broad jump (10' 11") ranked seventh out of 42 prospects in the WR group.

Having completed Jets' OTAs, Brownlee was specifically mentioned by Aaron Rodgers as one of two rookie pass-catchers who "really had nice camps."

With a number of established veterans already in place, there likely isn't room on the 53-man roster for Brownlee. The way it's trending, the Jets will likely try to sneak him through waivers and onto the Practice Squad, but those decisions are still 2.5 months away.
