Tecate offering $50 rebate for Mayweather-Pacquiao PPV
Fight sponsor Tecate is offering fans a $50 rebate towards the pay-per-view for the May 2 fight between Floyd Mayweather and Manny Pacquiao, ESPN's Dan Rafael reports.
The highly anticipated bout is the most expensive PPV in boxing history. The standard definition broadcast will cost $89.95, while the high definition broadcast has a $99.95 price tag before taxes.
Tecate is offering 675,000 mail-in rebates for the fight. Buying one Tecate or Tecate Light 18-pack will earn fans a $15 rebate, while two 18-packs will earn a $30 discount. In order to receive the full $50 rebate, fans must purchase three 18-packs. Tecate is primarily sold in the southwestern United States.

"We know consumers react well to the mail-in rebates," Tecate brand manager Gustavo Guerra told ESPN. "And now here's a fight where the pay-per-view is going to be $100. It is expensive, and this will be very attractive for consumers."
The fight is expected to break the record for PPV sales of 2.5 million that was set by Mayweather’s 2007 fight against Oscar De La Hoya.
Tecate paid $5.6 million for the right to sponsor the fight, Rafael reports.
