Green Bay Packers Work Out Three CFL Players
The Green Bay Packers brought in three CFL players for workouts Monday, according to 3DownNation. Those players were Hamilton Tiger-Cats linebacker Carthell Flowers-Lloyd and cornerback Kenneth George, as well as Saskatchewan Roughriders wide receiver Samuel Emilus.
Flowers-Lloyd was a special teams ace for the Tiger-Cats in 2023, recording 31 special teams tackles in 18 games. He played safety at Stony Brook, racking up 70 tackles, 14 tackles for loss, two sacks, one forced fumble, one fumble recovery, one interception and four pass breakups in 10 games in 2022.
George completed his first season in the CFL with Hamilton, playing in all 18 games. He finished with 43 defensive tackles, two interceptions, one sack and one forced fumble. His previous NFL stop was with the Tennessee Titans.
Emilus has emerged as one of the top receivers in the CFL in the last year. In his second year with the Riders, Emilus recorded 70 receptions for 1,097 yards and six touchdowns in 18 games. Saskatchewan selected the 26-year-old receiver seventh overall in the 2022 CFL Draft.
This was George’s first NFL workout of the offseason. Flowers-Lloyd and Emilus each have worked out with at least five NFL teams. Monday was the first day CFL players can sign NFL contracts, with Montreal Alouettes receiver Austin Mack being the first with the Atlanta Falcons.
