Ottawa Redblacks Make Trio of Additions, Including Former NFL Third-Round Pick
The Ottawa Redblacks were busy on Monday, bringing in some new talent in wide receiver Dillon Stoner, defensive lineman Carson Taylor and linebacker Davion Taylor.
Stoner was a member of the Las Vegas Raiders practice squad and active roster in 2021 and 2022 before being placed on IR. During five years at Oklahoma State, he hauled in 191 receptions for 2,378 yards and 17 touchdowns in 52 games. He was named Honorable Mention All-Big 12 in 2020 as a wide receiver and punt returner.
Carson Taylor spent last year in the USFL with the Philadelphia Stars, contributing 25 tackles and three sacks. Taylor did a brief stint in the NFL with the Chicago Bears in 2022 before being released in training camp. At Northern Arizona, he has named Honorable Mention All-Big Sky selection in 2021 after making 30 tackles, 10 tackles for loss, a career-high six sacks, three pass deflections and two forced fumbles in eight games.
Davion Taylor was selected in the third round of the 2020 NFL Draft by Philadelphia, amassing 51 tackles and two forced fumbles in 21 games as an Eagle. He also played for the Chicago Bears and the Arizona Cardinals through last season. In 24 games for the Colorado Buffaloes (2018-2019), Taylor posted 128 total tackles, 18 tackles for loss, two sacks, six pass deflections and three fumble recoveries.
Ottawa starts the season in Week 2 at home against the Winnipeg Blue Bombers on June 13.
