Ottawa Redblacks Re-Sign FB Anthony Gosselin, Kicker/Punter Michael Domagala

The Ottawa Redblacks brought back fullback Anthony Gosselin and kicker/punter Michael Domagala on contract extensions Thursday.

With a continued focus on bringing back key players from last year's squad, the Ottawa Redblacks are making moves.

The team announced Thursday they have re-signed fullback Anthony Gosselin and kicker Michael Domagala on contract extensions. Gosselin signed a two-year extension while Domagala is back on a one-year deal.

“I have been in Ottawa for my entire CFL career, and this is the only place I want to play and win,” Gosselin said in his statement Thursday. “I’m excited to play in front of RNation for another two years.”

Last season was one of the best of Gosselin’s career. He finished with five special teams tackles, 27 receiving yards, six kickoff return yards and four yards rushing in 16 games and has appeared in 75 games for the Redblacks since joining the team when he was selected in the second round of the 2017 CFL Draft.

Domagala is entering his fourth season in the CFL and his second with the Redblacks. Last year, he converted eight of his nine field goal attempts. He was also the main punter, booting 65 punts for an average of 44.8 yards per punt. He previously played two seasons with the Hamilton Tiger-Cats in 2019 and 2021.

Ottawa also re-signed defensive back Brandin Dandridge last week as they focus on locking up pending free agents. The team had 33 pending free agents entering the offseason.
