When one domino falls, so fall the others. The Winnipeg Blue Bombers stayed busy on Tuesday with another major signing, this time agreeing to terms with CFL All-Star wide receiver Dalton Schoen.

From the moment Schoen joined the Bombers, the number one receiver role was his. Through his first two seasons, he has caught 141 passes for 2,663 yards and 26 touchdowns in 34 games.

He exploded onto the scene in 2022 with a league-leading 1,441 yards and 16 touchdowns in 18 games, which earned him his first CFL All-Star selection and the CFL’s Most Outstanding Rookie award. While his numbers went down in year two, he still racked up 1,222 yards and 10 touchdowns in 16 games, once again being named as a CFL All-Star.

Quarterback Zach Collaros gets his top target back in the passing game as Schoen's elite hands and route running have made him one of the best receivers in the CFL. Paired with the return of running back Brady Oliveira, the Bombers look poised for another Grey Cup run.

Looking at Winnipeg’s free agency outlook, Schoen is only the second receiver on the team to re-sign besides Drew Wolitarsky. Receivers Rasheed Bailey, Janarion Grant and Brendan O’Leary-Orange are still pending free agents.
