Ole Miss QB Bo Wallace says athletes go to bed hungry
The NCAA passed a rule in April allowing for unlimited meals for athletes. The decision came after - but was apparently unconnected to - Connecticut guard Shabazz Napier saying he often went to bed hungry.
Ole Miss quarterback Bo Wallace expressed similar sentiments recently, saying the scholarship stipend that athletes receive is barely enough to get through.
Wallace even wondered how guys can afford to dress up for the conference media days when they don't have many resources.
"A lot of guys go to bed hungry at night. That's real," Wallace said to CBSSports.com. "We have our breakfast and lunch, you can swipe your card, but dinner you have to pay for. ... We need more compensation just to be able to survive. If I didn't have my parents I don't know what I would do. A lot of these kids don't have the same things that I have. I know that their struggle is something terrible. Cost of attendance, if they could just give us that, it would be OK."

Wallace completed 65 percent of his passes for 3,346 yards with 18 touchdowns and 10 interceptions for the Rebels last season.
