After two consecutive shutout wins, the No. 8 LSU Tigers (3-0) host the unbeaten Mississippi State Bulldogs (3-0) at Death Valley. This will be the first game in Southeastern Conference play for both teams. The Tigers went 9-3 last season, closing out the year with a New Year's Day victory over Iowa in the Outback Bowl. The Bulldogs notched a 6-6 record last year, finishing their season with a New Year's Eve win against Rice in the AutoZone Liberty Bowl.
