Texas has dismissed offensive tackle Kennedy Estelle for a violation of team rules, Longhorn Network reports.

Estelle, a junior, was indefinitely suspended by head coach Charlie Strong before Texas' Week 2 game against BYU. The team did not announce the reason for the suspension at the time. He was also suspended for the season opener for a violation of team rules.

Estelle had problems staying on the field even before Strong was hired. He did not play in last season's Alamo Bowl because of academic issues.

Strong has now dismissed nine players since he accepted the head coaching job in January.

The Longhorns are 1-2 on the season and have lost two straight games. They had a bye last week and return to action this Saturday against Kansas.
