Louisville Cardinals vs. Clemson Tigers
Louisville visits Clemson on Saturday afternoon, with the winner retaining at least a small chance of keeping up with Florida State in the ACC’s Atlantic Division. The Cardinals (5-1) improved to 3-1 in ACC play with a 28-6 win at Syracuse last week, while the Tigers (3-2) got back to 2-1 in the conference with a 41-0 blanking of NC State. This will be the first meeting between Louisville and Clemson.

10/04: Clemson 41, NC State 0
It was the Tigers’ first shutout since a 54-0 win over South Carolina State in 2008. The 41-point margin of victory was the largest in the history of the series by either side and helped Clemson improve to 54-28-1 all-time against the Wolfpack. The Tigers gave up just 156 yards of total offense, their fewest since holding Boston College to 52 total yards in 2009. NC State came in averaging 505.6 yards per game.
09/27: Clemson 50, North Carolina 35
After the conclusion of this game, Clemson became 74-0-1 when gaining at least 500 yards of total offense. True freshman Deshaun Watson threw for six touchdowns and became the first true freshman to win his first start for Clemson.
09/20: Florida State 23, Clemson 17, OT
Clemson couldn’t hold on to a 17-10 fourth-quarter lead, as FSU tied it up with a 74-yard touchdown pass with 6:04 left in regulation and won it with a touchdown to end the first overtime. Both of the Tigers’ losses have come to ranked opponents on the road. Deshaun Watson’s 266 passing yards were the most for a true freshman for Clemson since Patrick Sapp threw for 273 yards at Maryland in 1992.
09/06: Clemson 73, South Carolina State 7
The 73 points were the most for the Tigers since scoring 82 against Wake Forest in 1981. The 66-point margin of victory was Clemson’s biggest since a 66-0 victory over Presbyterian in 1957. The Tigers had 735 yards of total offense, just the fourth time in school history they have topped 700 yards in a game and the most since getting 754 against NC State in 2012.
08/30: Georgia 45, Clemson 21
The Tigers trailed 24-21 entering the fourth quarter before the Bulldogs pulled away. True freshman Deshaun Watson threw a touchdown pass in his debut, a 30-yarder to CharonePeake early in the second quarter. Clemson had a 21-14 lead before Georgia scored 31 unanswered points.

10/03: Louisville 28, Syracuse 6
The Cardinal defense recorded two safeties and had two interceptions. Brandon Radcliff ran for 110 yards and two touchdowns. Louisville came into the game with the best rushing defense in the nation, allowing 58.2 yards per game. They held the Orange to 59 yards on the ground.
09/27: Louisville 20, Wake Forest 10
The Cardinals rallied with 13 points in the fourth quarter, taking the lead for good on a 16-yard run by Brandon Radcliff with 11:41 remaining in regulation. Louisville has forced 13 turnovers in five games, the most at this point in the season since the 2005 team had 14. The Cardinals held Wake Forest to minus-22 yards rushing, the fewest allowed since holding Grambling to minus-56 in 2000.
09/20: Louisville 34, FIU 3
Running back Michael Dyer saw his first action of the season after missing the first three games with an injured quad. He had 16 yards on eight carries. Wide receiver James Quick had a career-high 174 yards receiving on seven catches, the most receiving yards for a Louisville player since Arnold Jackson had 174 against Cincinnati in 1999. Safety GerodHolliman had two interceptions for the second straight game and has five on the season.
09/13: Virginia 23, Louisville 21
The Cavaliers won it on Ian Frye’s 42-yard field goal with 3:41 to go. Louisville went three-and-out and punted from its own three-yard line with 2:38 left, but never got the ball back. The Cardinals’ eight-game winning streak -- the second-longest in the nation -- was snapped with the loss.
09/06: Louisville 66, Murray State 21
The Cardinals’ 45 points in the first half were their most in an opening half since scoring 49 against Murray State in 2007. Louisville had six rushing touchdowns and had two players -- Reggie Bonnafon and Brandon Radcliff -- with at least two apiece for the first time since 2006. The Cardinals rushed for 325 yards, their highest total since 2008.
09/01: Louisville 31, Miami 13
Louisville is now 2-3 in its first-ever game in a new conference. The Cardinals beat Temple last year in their American Athletic Conference debut. The Cardinals haven’t allowed a first-quarter touchdown in 15 straight games. Dominique Brown rushed for a career-high 143 yards and scored a touchdown on a career-best 33 carries.
