After their loss in the first-ever College Football Playoff National Championship Game, the reigning Pac-12 champion Oregon Ducks will begin the 2015 season against new starting quarterback Vernon Adams Jr.'s old team, Eastern Washington.

Adams, a transfer from Eastern Washington, threw for 10,438 yards and ran for 1,232 in three seasons with the Eagles. Anchoring Oregon's running attack will be sophomore Royce Freeman (1,365 yards and 18 TDs) and junior Thomas Tyner (5.1 yards per carry). Junior wide receiver Bralon Addison, who missed last season due to a torn ACL, will also be back for the Ducks.

On defense, Oregon's key returners are senior defensive end DeForest Buckner (81 tackles, 13 tackles for loss last season), junior safety Reggie Daniels (83 tackles) and sophomore corner Chris Seisay.

Eastern Washington enters the season ranked No. 6 in the FCS coaches poll, and returns seven starters on offense and six on defense.
