The Oregon Ducks (3–2) are trying to jump back into the top 25 after being knocked out following a loss to Utah two weeks ago. Last week, the Ducks defeated the Colorado Buffaloes 41–24, as they were carried by the running game on offense. Running back Royce Freeman led the way, carrying the ball 27 times for 163 yards and two touchdowns. Taj Griffin also eclipsed the 100-yard mark, tallying 110 yards and a touchdown on 11 carries.

The Washington State Cougars (2–2) took a 21–13 lead into halftime against the Cal Bears last Saturday, but couldn’t come away with a win in their Pac-12 opener, losing 34–28. Quarterback Luke Falk had a big game, throwing for 389 yards and two touchdowns on 35 of 49 passing. He also added a score on the ground to go along with a rushing touchdown from Gerard Wicks. Washington State hasn't beaten Oregon since a 34–23 victory in 2006.
