LSU Star Angel Reese Sees NIL Valuation Soar After National Championship Run
LSU basketball star Angel Reese not only helped the Tigers win their first national championship recently, but she has also become one of the most popular faces in college sports for name, image and likeness.
On3 reported Tuesday that its estimation of Reese’s NIL valuation has eclipsed seven figures to reach $1.3 million. In addition to her reported NIL value, Reese’s social media following has drastically increased to a whopping 3.6 million since the women’s NCAA Final Four.
Before LSU entered the 2023 women’s NCAA tournament in March, Reese’s NIL valuation was $371,000, according to On3. Her bold personality and confident persona—that most recently includes her emulating John Cena’s “you can’t see me” hand gesture to Iowa’s Caitlin Clark in the national title game—has led to her earning national attention and landing lucrative deals.
Reese, along with her teammates, recently served LSU students at Raising Cane’s as part of a NIL deal. She and Flau’jae Johnson also released a special edition of jerseys through Campus Ink.
The talented forward also made an appearance with Dick’s Sporting Goods in Baton Rouge, established an autographed card with Leaf Trading Cards, made an appearance on ABC’s Good Morning America and hosted a WNBA watch party for Bleacher Report.
Reese, the women’s NCAA tournament Most Outstanding Player and a unanimous first-team All-America selection, finished the 2023 season averaging a double-double with 23 points and 15.4 rebounds per game.
