Reigning national champion LSU bolstered its roster with another highly-touted transfer on Friday after landing DePaul star Aneesah Morrow to pair alongside star Angel Reese in the frontcourt.

Morrow, a two-time All-American forward, announced her commitment to play for the Tigers and coach Kim Mulkey with a video on social media, which shows her communicating with AI program Caktus.ai about her decision. After asking the program a series of questions about what she’s looking for in her next program, Morrow received one final response that revealed her anticipated decision:

“The answer is clear, you belong in Baton Rouge, go be great!”

Hailed as one of the top forwards in the country, Morrow will now head to Baton Rouge after spurning offers from USC and South Carolina, which she was reportedly set to visit this weekend

Friday’s seismic news comes just over a week after LSU added Louisville star Hailey Van Lith via the transfer portal. Van Lith and Morrow were considered the No. 1 and No. 2 transfers in the country, marking a major coup for Mulkey and the Tigers as they continue to round out what should be a super team entering the 2023–24 season.

During her standout first two seasons at DePaul, Morrow finished as the Big East leader in rebounds per game, tallying 53 double-doubles in 66 games played. The 6’ 1” forward is coming off a campaign in which she averaged 25.7 points on 42.5% shooting from the field and 12.2 rebounds per game, an impressive follow-up to her 21.9 ppg and 13.8 rpg averages as a freshman.

In 2022, Morrow, who will continue to wear the No. 24 at LSU, earned Big East freshman of the year and consensus national freshman of the year honors. She also earned back-to-back first-team All-Big East selections, and led the Blue Demons to their first NCAA tournament appearance since 2019 last season.
