Former UNC Star Caleb Love Announces Commitment to Arizona
Former North Carolina point guard Caleb Love has committed to Arizona for the upcoming season, he announced on social media.
Love played three seasons for the Tar Heels, averaging 14.6 points in 101 games and helping lead the team to the national championship game in 2022. Despite having eligibility remaining, Love chose to transfer instead of playing at North Carolina for his senior season.
Earlier in the offseason, Love initially chose to transfer to Michigan and play for Juwan Howard in Ann Arbor. However, Love decommitted from Michigan earlier this month and re-entered the transfer portal for undisclosed reasons.
This decision means Love will play for head coach Tommy Lloyd, who has led Arizona to a No. 1 or No. 2 seed in the NCAA tournament in his first two seasons. The Wildcats are also scheduled to play Duke in Durham next season, meaning Love will get to play his former rival one more time in his college career.
Last year, Arizona had a 28–7 (14–6) record, but lost to Princeton in the first round of the men’s NCAA tournament.
