Shilo Sanders Addresses Viral Jab by Colorado State’s Jay Norvell

Colorado State coach Jay Norvell taking a swipe at Deion Sanders has drawn a bunch of attention from media and fans. Colorado players have noticed as well.

Buffaloes safety Shilo Sanders, one of Deion’s two sons currently on the Colorado roster, appeared on Thursday’s The Pat McAfee Show to talk about the team’s early success. But the conversation quickly turned to opposing coaches talking trash about the Buffs and Coach Prime.

“Why do they do that?” Sanders said to McAfee and co-host A.J. Hawk. “They just make it worse!”

Sanders was then asked if the Colorado coach mentions these remarks as motivation or if the players are already aware of what’s been said. According to the senior safety, he usually finds out about the trash talk from YouTube recommendations bringing up interviews with other teams.

Colorado players are noticing remarks from opposing coaches against coach Deion Sanders.

Norvell’s shot at Deion wearing a cap and sunglasses on the sidelines and for interviews was the latest perceived slight against college football’s newest sensation.

Prior to Colorado’s season-opening matchup with TCU, quarterback Shedeur Sanders remembered that Horned Frogs offensive coordinator Kendal Briles overlooked him during a recruiting visit. And following last week’s 36–14 win over Nebraska, Sanders said Huskers coach Matt Rhule’s apparent offseason remarks about Colorado and a pregame meeting on the Buffs’ home-field logo was “disrespectful.”
