Deion Sanders Hints at How He Plans to Troll Jay Norvell During Postgame Handshake
Deion Sanders is ready for his postgame handshake with Colorado State's Jay Norvell.
The Colorado coach said that the Buffaloes’ intrastate matchup with the Rams became ”personal” after Norvell took a jab at Sanders frequently wearing a hat and sunglasses in public settings.
Fans believe that provoking Sanders will lead to a Buffaloes blowout Saturday night in Boulder. Colorado was already a 23.5-point favorite going into the game. However, Norvell claims he only intended to motivate his team, not personally attack Sanders.
Whether or not Coach Prime understands where Norvell was coming from, he apparently doesn’t intend to let those remarks go by without a direct response. Asked about Norvell’s swipe while appearing on ESPN’s College GameDay, Sanders hinted that he had a response in mind.
“When we meet at the conclusion of the game, just keep the cameras rolling,” said Sanders.
Fox’s Big Noon Kickoff was also live from Boulder in anticipation of Saturday night’s tilt and Sanders made his postgame intentions more clear with Mark Ingram. When asked what his handshake with Norvell would look like after the final whistle, without saying a word, the coach took off his white cowboy hat and Blender eyewear.
Postgame handshakes often draw interest if there’s tension or history between two football coaches. Sanders’s encounter with Matt Rhule last week was noticed for the Nebraska coach’s consideration. But eyes and cameras will certainly be watching Sanders and Norvell when they meet at midfield after Saturday’s matchup.
