When LSU’s Angel Reese didn’t show up before Friday’s game against Southeastern Louisiana, various rumors began appearing about why the Tigers forward was absent.

Many of the rumors were sparked by the fact that Reese was benched in the second half of Tuesday’s game vs. Kent State. Coach Kim Mulkey called that a “coach’s decision,” but didn’t offer any more details.

While the explanation as to why Reese wasn’t at the game hasn’t been shared yet, Reese did personally address the rumors on Sunday.

“Please don’t believe everything you read,” Reese posted on X, formerly known as Twitter.

The only explanation Mulkey provided after Friday’s game was that Reese “is a part of this basketball team, and we hope she’s back with the team soon.” She added that “I’m not gonna answer any more than that.”

The reigning national champions face Texas Southern on Monday night and Reese’s availability has not been released.
