Alabama Fall Camp Discussion on The Joe Gaither Show | Episode 53: Aug. 4, 2023
Alabama football is two days into its 2023 fall camp so let's focus on what we know and what we've heard so far on the Friday edition of "The Joe Gaither Show on BamaCentral".
Crimson Tide head coach Nick Saban met the media on Thursday and was in a jovial mood with the media after undergoing a media training session the day prior.
Saban told the public he'd been showing crucial plays from the previous year and illustrating the fact that a season can be made or broken by just a few plays in each game. The program highlights a few Alabama losses during the Saban-era and opines that in typical Tide fashion most of the losses are more to do with Alabama than the opponent and 2022 was no different.
The program pivoted to Ja'Corey Brooks who spent Friday morning in front of the media. Brooks noted that the Alabama offense doesn't need a single dominant receiver but instead will benefit from a well rounded group of players and skillsets.
The receivers will still be important in 2023 but under the direction of new Alabama offensive coordinator Tommy Rees perhaps the need for one star receiver is diminished.
We talk a little about tomorrow's fan day experience as the Tide will be in Bryant-Denny Stadium for the first time this fall on Saturday and we'll hear from the coordinators on Sunday for the first and only time this year as camp rolls on.
