Happy Thanksgiving week, there's so much to be thankful for on "The Joe Gaither Show on BamaCentral".

Let's talk about the Tide's emphatic win over the UT-Chattanooga Mocs on Saturday. Chattanooga received a $600,000 check but also drove back up 1-59 with a 66-10 loss as well.

The Crimson Tide totally outmatched the Mocs. Alabama was bigger, stronger and faster than their opponents and didn't mess around on Saturday. Sure, it's good to see the Tide roll, but what's the biggest takeaway from a blowout victory over a team that's completely inferior?

Maturity and momentum. Alabama has found both over the course of the season and has really played to a high level over the last five weeks of the season. Handling an inferior opponent in such efficient fashion shows the Tide taking each week seriously and thus bodes well for the final two weeks of the season.

Everyone in the conference ate their cupcakes except for the Auburn Tigers. Perhaps sugar has a negative affect on felines.

Auburn lost 31-10 to New Mexico State, creating a lot of intrigue around this week's Iron Bowl.

Why have the Tigers appeared to quit on Hugh Freeze? We believe the same reason the Kentucky Wildcats and Colorado Buffaloes look like they're quitting also.

We wrap up the show by talking hoops as the Crimson Tide defeated Mercer on Friday. Alabama is still in the infancy stages of the new year and will take on much stiffer competition this week in Destin, Fla.
