Today's Crimson Tide Schedule

  • Women's Tennis: Alabama at Kentucky, Lexington, Ky., Noon CT
  • Men's Tennis: Alabama vs No. 12 Mississippi State, Tuscaloosa, Ala., 1 p.m. CT, Live Video, Live Stats

Crimson Tide Results:

  • Rowing: In Oak Ridge, Tenn., the Alabama rowing program swept the Oklahoma Sooners in all six races on Saturday and gathered five consecutive wins over the No. 18 Tennessee Lady Vols, as all three programs entered Melton Hill Lake either ranked or receiving votes in this week’s coaches poll.
  • Track & Field: In the final event of the Texas Relays, Alabama track and field’s men’s 4x400-meter relay contingent of Khaleb McRae, Tarsis Orogot, Leander Forbes and Chris Robinson recorded a sub-three-minute time (2:59.15) to break the Crimson Tide’s school record. The squad now holds the No. 2 time in the country, as well as the fifth-fastest time in NCAA history. The feat marks the third overall record to fall for Alabama across its multi-meet weekend, as Robinson was also responsible for setting the new 400-meter hurdle standard a day prior. Distance runner Victor Kiprop moved his name to the top of the record book after breaking the 10,000-meter run late Friday night at the Stanford Invitational. In total, the Crimson Tide amassed 25 top-10 finishes, six UA all-time top-10 jumps, three school records and one event sweep across meets in Texas, Florida and California.

On This Day in Crimson Tide History:

April 2, 1948: Danny Ford, who played for the Crimson Tide and began his coaching career at Alabama, was born in Gadsden, Ala.

April 2, 1960: “Bear” Bryant said the Alabama offensive line was suspect for the upcoming season. "We only have three boys who have played any ball. We are real thin on the line," Bryant said after a scrimmage. Among those he praised included backs Mike Fracchia (60 yards rushing on 13 carries), Ray Abruzzese (39 yards on seven carries), Goobie Stapp (34 yards on five carries) and Butch Wilson (35 yards on four carries). The coach added that Tommy Brooker played well, with the junior receiver catching two passes for 47 yards and making all three extra-point attempts.

April 2, 1987: Former Alabama All-American offensive lineman Mike Johnson was born in Pensacola, Fla.

Crimson Tide Quote of the Day:

"A long way. I guess you could say it's the distance from Shreveport to Pasadena.” — Mike Johnson on how much the Crimson Tide improved from 2007 to 2009
