Former Alabama men's golfer Lee Hodges has been on the PGA Tour since 2018 — and had never won an event.

Until now.

Hodges finished off his impressive weekend at the 3M Open in Blaine, Minn. on Sunday afternoon, shooting a 4-under-par 67 to walk away with a seven-stroke victory over second-place finishers Martin Laird (-17), Kevin Streelman (-17) and JT Poston (-17).

Hodges finished the event 24-under-par. He led the event from start to finish — the first golfer to do so in the tournament's history.

With his win, Hodges is the 10th golfer from The University of Alabama to win an event on the PGA Tour. He's the second to win the 3M Open, joining Michael Thompson who won it in 2020.

Hodges joins Davis Riley as the second member of the 2017-18 Crimson Tide team to win an event this year — Riley won the Zurich Classic of New Orleans in April.

That Crimson Tide team finished runner-up to Oklahoma State.

Hodges' overall score of 20-under-par through three rounds set a tournament record.

With the victory, Hodges is now in prime position to compete at the Tour Championship from Aug. 24-27 at East Lake Golf Club in Atlanta, Ga.

Fellow Alabama alum Justin Thomas missed the cut this weekend and is currently not in the FedExCup Playoffs.
