Nick Saban Invests $17.5 Million Into Florida Vacation Home
Hurricane Ian struck landfall in late September of last season, leaving over $100 billion in damages in its wake. One of the homes in its path was a vacation home of one Alabama head football coach, Nick Saban.
The extent of the damage done at his Boca Grande home is unknown but the Sabans have a backup plan if it was destroyed or is currently inhabitable.
According to a report in the Palm Beach Post by Kimberly Miller the Sabans were the recent purchasers of a $17.5 million property on Jupiter Island north of West Palm Beach Florida.
The property, formerly owned by Bart Kavanaugh and his wife Betty Saks, contains a 6,200 square foot six-bedroom home built in 1992. The property features both oceanfront and intracoastal front access to water and has a 40,000 pound boat lift.
The Corcoran Group had agents Joanne Wagner and Susan Turner handle the sale of the property and they told Miller the location and environment of the property would give the Sabans a similar feel to their Boca Grande home in terms of privacy and amenities.
Originally listed for $21.5 million, the property stretches 1.68 acres from ocean to the Intracoastal Waterway with South Beach Road, the main island road, passing through it.
Jupiter Island is famously home to several celebrities and athletes, in particular, golfers as Saban is known for his love of the links. Perhaps he'll spend time with former Alabama golfer Justin Thomas and Tiger Woods as he unwinds in Florida.
