It's the Friday before SEC Media days which means we are so close to football season. In fact, college football is an even 50 days away from kicking off!

Let's open "The Joe Gaither Show on BamaCentral" with news that broke this morning. The University of Tennessee and former head football coach Jeremy Pruitt were given its punishments for recruiting violations that occurred during Pruitt's tenure.

How severe did the NCAA hammer the Volunteers? What will happen next for Pruitt now that he knows his fate and who really is the winner now that this chapter has closed?

The program then delivered on our promise from this week to rank the Southeastern Conference quarterbacks heading into the 2023 season.

After close examination it's clear that the quarterback play across the league will be stout as talent and experience is scattered throughout the conference.

What about the Alabama starter? Will he be near the top or bottom of the league as far as production goes? Three programs are expected to start players right out of the transfer portal, can they succeed now playing on a bigger stage?

How do we see inexperienced quarterbacks like Joe Milton and Carson Beck fitting into their teams?

The program concludes by setting up next week at SEC Media days. We can't wait to be in Nashville and expect to bring you an action packed week. Enjoy the show and have a great weekend.
