Alabama men's basketball freshman forward Mouhamed Dioubate underwent surgery on his left knee, but plans to return this upcoming season, according to Crimson Tide head coach Nate Oats.

"Mo had arthroscopic surgery on his left knee performed by Dr. Lyle Cain for an injury discovered during the physical process," Oats said in a statement sent to BamaCentral. "He is expected to make a full recovery and plans to return this upcoming season."

Dioubate, a 6-foot-7, 215-pound forward from Flushing, New York, was recently seen wearing a knee brace in a now-deleted Instagram post.

A consensus four-star recruit in the class of 2023, Dioubate ultimately chose the Crimson Tide over the likes of Maryland, Wake Forest, Virginia Tech, and Kansas State, while also receiving offers from Oklahoma and Ohio State, among others.

Primarily recruited by former Alabama assistant coach Bryan Hodgson, Dioubate was the first commitment for the Crimson Tide in the 2023 recruiting cycle and played a key role in the recruitments of fellow freshmen forwards Sam Walters and Kris Parker.
