Alabama Fan Day and Quarterback Discussion on The Joe Gaither Show | Episode 54: Aug. 7, 2023

We know everything about Alabama football after spending two hours in Bryant-Denny Stadium on Saturday. Check out the show to find out who should be the starting quarterback.
In this story:

The Alabama Crimson Tide was in action on Saturday for its traditional Fan Day open practice. We over react to everything we saw over the weekend on "The Joe Gaither Show on BamaCentral" on Monday as it's the only Alabama action we will see until the Tide's home opener.

The show begins by chastising the Alabama fan base as the attendance was absolutely abysmal on Saturday. Have the fans lost their passion for the program? Or was the Alabama Athletics staff unclear as to who was invited to the open practice?

Gaither then dives right into the action as we start with the Crimson Tide's offensive line. Alabama head coach Nick Saban said over the weekend that the running back position is where he sees the most depth on the team, will the line and the backs work together to shift the Tide's offensive philosophy?

New offensive coordinator Tommy Rees made sure to clarify that he's running the Alabama offense on Sunday but said stylistic decisions would be made around the personnel and the skillsets they provide. Does that mean a more physical team this year, or will Alabama still try to pass the ball all over the yard?

The show wraps all these discussions into what it means for the Alabama quarterback position. Who will take the reins and grab the bull by its horns? Did anyone take a step forward on Saturday? If our host was the offensive coordinator, what would his strategy be with the Alabama quarterback.
