Alabama Football Midseason MVPs: The Extra Point

Who have been the Crimson Tide's best players on each side of the ball through six weeks of the 2023 season?
In this story:

It feels like it just started, but we are already halfway through Alabama's 2023 football season.

The Crimson Tide sits at No. 11 in the AP Poll after an early-season loss to Texas, but has won every game since and is gaining momentum for potential late-season playoff push.

So through six games, who have Alabama's MVPs been?

On offense, the question is difficult. Alabama's run game has been effective at times, but in other games, teams have stacked the box and made it nearly impossible for the Crimson Tide to throw the ball.

Jase McClellan leads the team with 371 rushing yards, but the team leader in total touchdowns has been quarterback Jalen Milroe. Milroe, while not a prototypical pocket passing quarterback, has still been capable as a thrower this season, and has improved game to game.

Milroe leads the team with 13 touchdowns responsible for this season.

On defense, the question is even more of a challenge due to the stellar play across the board from the entire unit.

Kool-Aid McKinstry and Terrion Arnold have been lockdown on the corners, while Dallas Turner and Chris Braswell have terrorized opposing quarterbacks coming off the edges.

Deontae Lawson has stepped in as the leader and signal-caller of the defense in his first year as a starter, and true freshman Caleb Downs has been outstanding, leading the team in tackles and coming up with an interception in each of the last two games.

Check out the video above where BamaCentral's Blake Byler and Austin Hannon discuss who the Crimson Tide's offensive and defensive MVPs have been at the midway point of the 2023 season.
