Early movement for Alabama.

The Crimson Tide (1-0) defeated Middle Tennessee State 56-7 on Saturday night behind five total touchdowns from quarterback Jalen Milroe. The effort was enough to move Alabama up in the AP Top 25 — with the Crimson Tide coming in at No. 3 in Monday's release.

Georgia and Michigan are the teams that still sit ahead of Alabama after a week of football. The Bulldogs (1-0) defeated UT Martin 48-7 while the Wolverines (1-0) beat East Carolina 30-3.

The SEC has six schools in this week's poll — Georgia (1), Alabama (3), Tennessee (9), LSU (14), Ole Miss (20) and Texas A&M (23).

The Crimson Tide hosts No. 11 Texas on Saturday night at Bryant-Denny Stadium — creating an opportunity to rise in next week's poll.

Alabama also remains No. 3 in the coaches poll.
