ESPN's College GameDay Returns to Tuscaloosa
In one week No. 9 Alabama will host No. 15 LSU in a clash that likely will determine the winner of the SEC West.
ESPN announced it will bring College GameDay to Tuscaloosa to celebrate the big game. It will be the second time the television program comes to The Capstone this season after being on campus for Alabama's Week 2 matchup with the Texas Longhorns.
The appearance will make the Alabama-LSU matchup tied with the Ohio State-Penn State matchup of the most frequent games attended by College GameDay with 12 appearances and will make the Crimson Tide's 56th time being featured since the program's inception in 1987. Alabama is currently 35-20 all-time when being a part of College GameDay, either as the home or road team.
The game between the Crimson Tide and the Tigers will already be heated after last season's overtime thriller. Alabama lost to LSU for just the second time in 11 years in head coach Brian Kelly's first year, giving the Tigers their first win over the Crimson Tide in Baton Rouge since 2010.
GameDay's appearance makes it even bigger as Rece Davis, Kirk Herbstreit, Desmond Howard, Pat McAfee and Lee Corso host their show live from the Quad next to Denny Chimes.
The show begins at 8 a.m. CT and runs until the first kickoffs of the Saturday slate at 11 a.m., always featuring a celebrity guest picker. In Week 2 ESPN picked Joe Namath to serve as the guest picker where he said, "I'm taking Alabama every day of my life."
