JC Latham on Kadyn Proctor 'Grass Isn't Always Greener'
The Alabama Crimson Tide football program took Wednesday off from the practice field and instead invited NFL scouts and decision makers into the Hank Crisp Indoor Facility to show off its draft eligible players.
12 departing Crimson Tide players and one Alabama State Hornet took part in various aspects of the Alabama Pro Day event as the calendar flips closer and closer to the NFL Draft in April.
Alabama tackle JC Latham spent time with the media after going through positional drills where he addressed a potential move to left tackle, losing weight after Alabama's season concluded and the shock waves that Kadyn Proctor throughout college football on Tuesday.
Proctor spent his freshman year as Latham's opposite along the Alabama offensive line, but utilized the transfer portal after the year to enroll at Iowa and become a part of the Hawkeyes football program. The massive tackle announced his intention to return to Tuscaloosa on Tuesday after spending just two months in Des Moines.
"I mean that's the standard, we're the standard. The grass isn't always greener in other places," said Latham on Wednesday. "So when things happen and you think it might be better somewhere else you get to find out the hard way that it's not. It's Alabama for a reason."
The Alabama offensive line came under fire last season as Jalen Milroe sustained 49 sacks and was under consistent pressure throughout the season. Latham was quick to compliment the Freshman All-American for his steady improvement throughout the 2023 season.
"He was a young pup when he first got in, from summer to fall camp and moving forward. The ability to adjust on the fly and keep things going. You look at the last game and compare it to the first game and you'll see an improvement right there," said Latham.
