Where Alabama is in College Football Playoff Rankings Headed into Iron Bowl

With one weekend left in the regular season, it looks like Alabama will need some help around the country to move up in the CFP rankings.

Alabama football has been showing steady signs of improvement each week and is currently riding a nine-game winning streak heading into the Iron Bowl.

At 10-1 (7-0 SEC), the Crimson Tide has consistently been ranked as the third-highest one-loss team at No. 8 behind No. 6 Oregon and No. 7 Texas with Georgia, Ohio State, Michigan, Washington and Florida State in the top-5 of the College Football Playoff committee's rankings.

No team ahead of Alabama lost this past weekend, so going into the final weekend of the regular season, there was no change among the teams in the top-8 of the CFP poll as the Crimson Tide remains at No. 8 for the fourth straight week. The only difference was Washington and Florida State switching spots at fourth and fifth.

Alabama was also ranked eighth in the AP and Coaches poll

The Crimson Tide currently has three wins over teams in the committee's top-25 (No. 12 Ole Miss, No. 14 LSU and No. 21 Tennessee) with the lone loss coming to No. 7 Texas back in Week 2.

Ohio State and Michigan will square off this weekend. Florida State faces a rivalry road test at Florida on Saturday without Seminole starting quarterback Jordan Travis, who suffered a season-ending injury against North Alabama. Texas and Washington play unranked opponents while Oregon hosts No. 16 Oregon State.
