2024 4-Star Prospect Cayden Jones Commits to Alabama Football
Alabama football earned another defensive commitment as linebacker Cayden Jones will join the Crimson Tide.
Jones, a 6-foot-4-inch linebacker from Christ School in Arden, N.C., is the No. 14 player at his position in the 2024 class. Jones is also the No. 2 player in North Carolina and a 4-star prospect, according to 247Sports.
Jones also held offers from Tennessee, South Carolina, Oklahoma, Michigan, Kentucky and Ole Miss.
His relationship with Alabama was a late one; he didn't receive an offer from the Crimson Tide until late January when he had an unofficial visit. Jones then visited Alabama again on April 14, and a week later, he committed to Nick Saban and Co.
Watching his tape, Jones has a high motor and gets into the backfield with serious aggression. He doesn't waste movements and consistently pursues the ball carrier.
That said, he still takes time to let the play develop, instead of charging in blindly. That's a major factor considering the middle linebacker needs that kind of patience to be effective.
