Wide receiver Demello Jones recently announced his top 10 programs, and the Alabama Crimson Tide stands among them.

Jones is a consensus 4-star recruit in the 2024 class and he plays for Swainsboro High School in Swainsboro, Ga. He stands at 6 feet, 1 inch and weighs 176 pounds.

On tape, Jones plays both sides of the ball for Swainsboro, lining up in multiple positions on offense while also playing defensive back. The biggest thing that sticks out about him is how fast he can get to his top speed. The speed will not shock you on tape, but the minute he gets the ball in wildcat formation he leaves a trail of defenders behind him.

The likelihood that Jones ends up in the Southeastern Conference is strong considering half of his final schools are in the SEC. While it's projected that he will choose to stay in state and commit to the Bulldogs, the fact that Alabama and Notre Dame made the final cut is eye-catching. How much of a rapport did he build with Tommy Rees before Rees left for Tuscaloosa? Or is his uncle, former Notre Dame defensive back Deke Cooper, the reason the Fighting Irish are in the mix?

Should Jones commit to Georgia, he would be the third wide receiver to join the class, and all of them would be in-state products. Alabama only has one receiver committed in 2024 so far, 4-star recruit Perry Thompson.
