2025 Basketball Prospect Jacoby Hill Receives Alabama Offer

The Central-Phenix City sophomore earned the offer after a strong performance in the Class 7A state tournament.

Alabama basketball is getting an early start on the 2025 recruiting class, offering in-state product Jacoby Hill.

Hill, a sophomore from Central-Phenix City High School, played really well during his team's Class 7A State Tournament run, including a 32-point performance in the semifinals and a 37-point performance in the championship game.

The value of establishing a connection with in-state talent is a critical component of successful recruiting. Nate Oats and Co. were successful in signing the top Alabama prospect in R.J. Johnson for the 2023 class, but rival Auburn got a commit from Mobile native and 4-star prospect Labaron Philon in the 2024 class.

Now Alabama has a chance to sign another top 2024 in-state prospect in Chase McCarty, a 4-star prospect who plays for Westminster Christian Academy in Hunstville. And the in-state talent in Alabama isn't as deep compared to places like Georgia, North Carolina or New York. Knowing that, it becomes even more imperative to capitalize when an elite player appears.

It is still early for Hill, who's recent performance put him in a larger spotlight, but it was smart of Alabama to recognize the talent and offer a player whose stock could rise significantly over the next two years.
