4-Star Prospect Koby Young Blown Away After Junior Day Visit

Young, a top-10 prospect in the state of Louisiana, talked about the positive experience he had speaking to coaches and seeing the program in person.

Koby Young already expected a good experience when he planned to visit Tuscaloosa, but Nick Saban and Co. exceeded those expectations.

The 4-star prospect from New Orleans told BamaCentral that he was thoroughly impressed with Alabama when he visited for Junior Day last Saturday.

"It was really eye-opening," Young said about his visit. "I really see why they win so much. From the athletics to academics, it was a high standard."

Young said that one part that stuck out to him was the conversation he had with wide receivers coach Holmon Wiggins. He particularly liked how Wiggins is always looking to better himself even after all of the success.

"He really told me what I wanted to hear," Young said. "He has some of same morals as me. Although the program keeps winning, he still wants to be better at winning every day."

Besides talking to Wiggins, Young had a chance to speak with other coaches in the program and take photos with a CFP National Championship Trophy while wearing helmet, gloves and a full uniform. He even wore Saban's famous straw hat in one of his photos as he admired the trophy.

Overall, Young said that his relationship with Alabama improved greatly after Junior Day.

"Alabama moved up my list as one of my top choices," Young said.

Regarding his plans for the spring, Young said he plans to visit Oklahoma on March 25 and Tennessee on April 1. The New Orleans native also plans to visit LSU before wrapping up his current stretch with Texas A&M.

Young added that LSU is one program that is recruiting him aggressively, so the in-state dynamic will be a factor to keep an eye on.
