TUSCALOOSA, Ala. — After a month of uncertainty concerning Alabama basketball's roster, the 2023-24 iteration of the Crimson Tide is beginning to take shape.

Cal State Fullerton transfer Latrell Wrightsell Jr. has committed to Alabama, giving the Crimson Tide its third transfer portal addition of the offseason.

Wrightsell was the leading scorer for the Titans as a junior last season, scoring 16.3 points per game and shooting 38 percent from 3-point range, earning him First Team All-Big West honors.

The 6-foot-3 guard spent the past three seasons playing for CSU Fullerton, and will have two seasons of eligibility remaining due to an additional COVID year given to student-athletes who played during the 2020-21 season.

Hailing from Omaha, Nebraska, Wrightsell scored at least 20 points in nine contests last year. His best offensive output came in a 29-point performance against UC Riverside back in January.

Led by Wrightsell, CSU Fullerton came within one game of an NCAA Tournament berth last season, but fell in the Big West Tournament championship game to UC Santa Barbara.

Wrightsell joins an Alabama transfer class that already features Wichita State transfer Jaykwon Walton, who led the Shockers in scoring last season, and Hoftra transfer Aaron Estrada, who is the 2-time reigning CAA Player of the Year.

The Crimson Tide is also awaiting decisions from three players currently testing NBA Draft waters in Jahvon Quinerly, Charles Bediako and Mark Sears. The expectation is that most, if not all three will return to Tuscaloosa next season.

With Wrightsell's commitment, Alabama has just one open scholarship remaining.
