Hogs Expected to Hire Receiver Coach with Petrino Ties

Former assistant at Missouri State has been hired to replace Guiton, reports say

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. — It appears Arkansas has found their new wide receivers coach after the departure of Kenny Guiton, who was hired at Wisconsin last week. Missouri State co-offensive coordinator Ronnie Fouch is expected to be the next receivers coach with the Razorbacks, according to Matt Zenitz of 247sports.

Fouch joined the Missouri State staff in 2020 while current Arkansas offensive coordinator Bobby Petrino was head coach. The former Washington Huskies and Indiana State quarterback was hired to coach running backs and helped the unit establish a run game that averaged 126 yards per game. That season, the Bears won the Missouri Valley Conference and made their first FCS playoff appearance in 30 years.

Under the watch of Fouch, Missouri State had the No. 5 passing offense at the FCS level this averaging a shade over 300 yards per game. The Bears finished No. 26 in total offense with 400 yards per game and averaged 30 points an outing which slotted them at No. 31.

The 34-year old has one year of experience at the Power Four level but only served in an off-field role (offensive quality control) from 2015-2018. He began his coaching career with Georgia State from 2013-2014 as a graduate assistant, one season as tight ends coach at Florida Tech in 2019 and the past four seasons with Missouri State in various roles.

Arkansas signed a pair of wide receivers in the latest recruiting cycle in Ashton Bethel-Roman and Krosse Johnson. The Razorbacks earned a commitment from Texas A&M receiver Jordan Anthony on Tuesday afternoon which is its first addition to the wideout room through the transfer portal.

Super seniors Andrew Armstrong and Isaac TeSlaa have already announced they will return for the 2024 season. Arkansas will also have Isaiah Sategna, Dazmin James, Davion Dozier, Jaedon Wilson returning. No announcement has been made from the Tyrone Broden camp on a decision to go to the NFL or return to the Razorbacks. The 6-7, 195-pounder, transferred to the Hogs after spending four seasons at Bowling Green.
