Former Top Five Player Signs with Razorbacks Basketball
FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. — The wait is over to see if Arkansas would be able to hold onto Isaiah Elohim. The Sierra Canyon forward signed with the Razorbacks on Thursday after being committing since Oct. 5. He chose the Hogs over the likes of Kansas, Villanova, Kentucky, Texas, Oregon and USC.
At one time, the 6-5, 195-pound forward was ranked as high as no. 4 in the nation by a few recruiting services. Elohim suffered a knee injury the summer before his junior season which slightly dropped his stock but held serve at no. 41 nationally, according to On3.
Elohim averaged 16 points, five rebounds and three assists last season for the Trailblazers-- a prep school squad that also had Bronny James and Justin Pippen. The newest Razorback received much praise from his new coach Eric Musselman.
“Isaiah will be a great addition to the Razorback program,” Musselman said. “His size, length, toughness and athleticism will allow him to be a good fit in our style of play. He can play multiple positions on offense and guard multiple positions on defense. Isaiah can score at all three levels, handles the ball well and plays with a lot of confidence.”
The Kingston, New York native is currently ranked as the no. 11 shooting guard for the 2025 NBA Draft while also sitting as the no. 49 pick for the draft, per NBA Draft Room. Elohim's stock jumped drastically before his sophomore season when he led his division at the Peach Jam averaging 29 points per game.
With the signing of Elohim and Jalen Shelley, Arkansas is likely done for this recruiting cycle. The Razorbacks currently rank no. 23 nationally and third in the SEC for 2024. This will be Musselman's third top 25 finish in the recruiting rankings since being hired in 2019.
