FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. — Hopefully, the SEC coaches putting a pair of Arkansas players on the all-league teams isn't the jinx it was for the football team. Trevon Brazile was picked to the first team and Davonte Davis was on the second team among just 16 players named to the list.

If nothing else, we know now who the other teams will be targeting headed into the season. It's also not especially surprising this year with those two grabbing the honors.

Alabama, Arkansas, Kentucky, Tennessee, and Texas A&M each had multiple selections. In all, 36 different players received votes for the coaches’ teams.

The coaches’ preseason All-SEC first and second teams consist of a minimum of eight players on each squad, voted on by the SEC basketball coaches. No ties were broken and no predicted order of finish was made.

The 2023-24 campaign begins Nov. 6, when No. 14 Arkansas hosts Alcorn State for the Razorbacks’ season opener. Tipoff is set for 7 p.m. at Bud Walton Arena.
