Foundation Making Change at Top of Structure
FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. — Today, the Razorback Foundation announced that Billye Veteto, Chief Financial Officer, will become the executive director of the Razorback Foundation on an interim basis effective April 17.
Veteto joined the Razorback Foundation in October 2011.
Prior to joining the Foundation staff, she worked for more than six years at the University of Arkansas Foundation.
Prior to that, Veteto worked in public accounting as an auditor. She is a native of Farmington and a 1999 University of Arkansas graduate.
“It is my honor to take the helm of the Razorback Foundation,” Veteto said. “I will continue to lead on the interim basis while a search for a permanent replacement is underway and look forward to continuing our important work for Razorback Athletics and more than 10,000 members.”
Scott Varady, executive director and general counsel, will complete his tenure with the Razorback Foundation on April 16 to become the Vice Chancellor for University Advancement at the University of Arkansas.
Varady, a University of Arkansas graduate, has served in his current role since December 2015 after serving for more than 19 years with the University of Arkansas’ Office of General Counsel.
“We are excited to announce that Billye Veteto will lead the Razorback Foundation during this transitional period. She has the expertise and experience to provide the essential continuity of leadership to work with our membership and continue the momentum of the organization until the position is permanently filled,” said Razorback Foundation Board Chair Charles Redfield. “Scott has been a tremendous leader for the Razorback Foundation, including helping modernize all facets of the organization, steering the Foundation through two capital campaigns, a global pandemic and two of its most successful fundraising years in recent history. We are grateful for his leadership and look forward to working with him in his new role on campus.”
“As the Razorback Foundation begins a transition in leadership, we are fortunate to have Billye Veteto, someone with the expertise and tenure to help guide the organization on an interim basis,” said athletics director Hunter Yurachek. “The Razorback Foundation has continued to generate record-breaking support for our student-athletes, our sport programs and the continued growth of Razorback Athletics.
"Thanks to the dedicated efforts of Scott and his staff, loyal Razorback Foundation members and season ticket holders have stepped forward to provide vital resources to assist our program in achieving the most successful years in the history of our program.
"I want to thank Scott for his leadership of the Razorback Foundation and wish him the best as he continues to serve the University of Arkansas in his new role.”
“We all share an immense sense of pride in the Razorbacks and the state of Arkansas, none more than Billye! I have been truly blessed to serve the Razorback Foundation members and Razorback Athletics alongside Billye for the past seven years and know she will be an excellent resource for our members,” said Varady. “I personally thank all of our Foundation members, the amazing professionals who work at the Razorback Foundation each day, and our Board of Directors, as well as Hunter Yurachek and Razorback Athletics for their help along the way.
"I look forward to the continued success of Razorback Athletics and the Razorback Foundation. I am confident that Billye and our professional staff will continue to achieve new heights and enjoy tremendous success with the loyal support of our amazing members.”
The Board of Directors of the Razorback Foundation has formed a search committee that will conduct a nationwide search for a new executive director.
