Coach Thompson has brought Scott Foxhall back to the Plains
Coach Butch Thompson has brought Scott Foxhall back to the Plains after nearly a decade away.
Foxhall's position is Director of Player Development, where he will help coach up players while also being a big part of the recruiting process.
Foxhall has worked with the pitchers at various stops in the SEC, most recently at Mississippi State, where he was the pitching coach from 2019-2023.
Foxhall was the pitching coach at Auburn from 2009-2014, so he is familiar with the Auburn area and culture.
Foxhall helped Mississippi State win a National Championship in 2021, a season where he was named Assistant Coach of the Year.
I love this hire as Foxhall has led many successful pitching staffs during his career, and I believe he, Coach Thompson, and recently hired pitching coach Everett Teaford will lead Auburn pitching in the right direction for years to come.
While Foxhall's 2023 Mississippi State pitching staff didn't have a ton of success, he is still an excellent pitching mind that will make this Auburn pitching staff better in 2024.
This is a home run hire by Coach Thompson.
