Auburn's Jaylin Williams declares for NBA Draft
Auburn basketball forward Jaylin Williams has declared for the NBA Draft while maintaining his eligibility, per Jon Rothstein.
Williams, who's been with the Tigers for four years, averaged a career-best 11.4 points per game last season to go along with 4.7 rebounds, 2.2 assists while shooting 35.4% from outside the arc - all also career-highs.
The Tigers have seen a variety of players depart through the transfer portal or the NBA Draft over the past few weeks, with former five star Yohan Traore entering the portal alongside former four-star Chance Westry, who just committed to Syracuse. Lead point guard Wendell Green Jr. has declared for the NBA Draft and won't be returning to Auburn. Center Johni Broome declared for the draft but will likely be coming back.
What Auburn does in the transfer portal to rectify the roster turnover will be interesting, especially if Allen Flanigan decides to portal or enter the draft as well.
The Tigers have already secured FIU transfer Denver Jones, but will need more wings and forwards for next year's squad.
There's work to be done, even if Williams does come back.
