Yohan Traore finds new home on the west coast
Yohan Traore is going back out west for his sophomore season.
The 6'10 Freshman was recruited by Auburn, from Glendale, Arizona. Originally from France, Traore was obviously close to fellow countryman Jeffrey M'ba, with both of them departing, Auburn's French duo is no more.
Traore was a five-star out of Dream City Christian and was very hyped up leading into his freshman year on the plains. He however did not live up to said hype. Jaylin Williams was ahead of him on the depth chart and with Williams being a minute eater, Traore never saw extended action on the court. Yohan has an average of 9.8 minutes a game and played in 25 games for the Tigers.
The prestige of being a five-star should follow you into your transfer recruitment but with Traore, it seems it did not. This might be due to the fact he averaged 2.1 points per game on 40% shooting. Along with these poor statistics, Traores' decision making was questioned by many when he was on the court, though he did have flashes of brilliance such as this play during the Israel exhibitions.
The University of Santa Barbara Grouchos is a solid landing spot for Traore, as they have made it to the NCAA tournament two out of the past three years. Head Coach Joe Pasternack also has an impressive 132-53 record.
