CBK's list of top 25 Div-1 basketball teams over the last 5 seasons
CBK released its top 25 list of collegiate basketball programs of the past 5 seasons. It isn’t all that much different from the 10-year list in the top 15. Auburn, of course, is the highest-ranked SEC team, but for reasons passing understanding, the Alabama program made the list despite their many off-the-court issues and lack of success in the NCAA tournament. Objectively, UCONN should be ranked higher than they were. The metrics did not take UCONN’s championship this year into account. Apparently, the metrics also didn't account for Alabama’s many off-the-court problems and a horrid loss to San Diego State in this year’s tourney. Nor ever reaching the Final Four. Here is the list in its entirety:
Arkansas and Tennessee were nice surprises. Kentucky rounded out the list of SEC teams. One has to wonder where Illinois was on this list. Otherwise, a Solid position for all the Blue Blood programs such as the Auburn Tigers! Something to improve upon.
The Tigers have now had five players depart from the program within the last couple of weeks, including three backup linebackers:
Wide Receiver Tar'Varish Dawson
Defensive lineman Jeffrey M'ba
Linebacker Kameron Brown
Linebacker Desmond Tisdol
Linebacker Powell Gordon
Auburn has pulled in an impressive haul thus far during Hugh Freeze's first season on the Plains, currently sitting at No. 3 nationally in 247Sports' transfer portal class rankings.
