The announcers for the Auburn vs. UMass game have been announced
ESPN has released who will cover the television broadcast for Auburn's first game against the UMass Minutemen.
Veterans of both ESPN and the broadcasting game will do the honors on September 2nd. Beth Mowins and Kirk Morrison have over 20 years of broadcasting experience combined, and with Morrison being a former player, his insight should be helpful as the color analyst to Mowins play-by-play.
The sideline coverage will be done by Stormy Buoantony, a three-year veteran of ESPN who has spent time covering both College Football and the XFL.
These three have the privilege of being the ones to cover the first-ever meeting between the two schools. The original plans were for this inaugural matchup to take place in 2020, but due to the NCAA and SEC rules, Auburn played an all-SEC schedule, and the game was moved to the 2023 season.
With a 1,000-plus mile difference, there is not much you can find about these two schools that are common ground. Former Auburn Basketball Head Coach Tony Barbee is a UMass alumnus and coached there for two stints on his way to being a head coach.
Auburn and the Minutemen will kick off at 2:30 PM CST in Jordan-Hare Stadium with a sold-out crowd. It looks to be a warm welcome for Head Coach Hugh Freeze in his first game on the sidelines for the Tigers.
