Auburn Briefing: Will Caleb Burton III have a role for the Auburn Tigers?

Ohio State transfer Caleb Burton III will help the Auburn Tigers this season.

Caleb Burton III came to Auburn after starting his college football career in the Big 10, playing for Ohio State.

Injuries kept the former blue-chip recruit off the field at Ohio State, but he has found a new home on the Plains.

Burton III was a top 100 player in the 2022 class, so you know he possesses a ton of talent.

He has turned heads so far at fall camp, and many believe he could crack the rotation for the Tigers this season.

Auburn has a ton of transfers in the receiver room, so many players have something to prove during fall camp.

Burton III could develop into a stud for the Auburn Tigers thanks to the talent we know he has based on his ranking out of high school.

I expect Burton to catch more passes than many expect this season from quarterback Payton Thorne.

What's today

There is a scrimmage today, but the media does not have a viewing window. Coach Freeze will speak to the media at noon. Hopefully, Thorne has a good scrimmage to help him further prepare for the start of the 2023 season against UMass.

We wrote it

Lance Dawe wrote about how the Auburn Tigers were ranked as a top 25 all time college football program.

"Auburn is definitively one of college football's best programs of all time. They may not be top 10, but the Tigers are certainly inside the top 15 across the board."
