Auburn football ranked one of AP Top 25 Poll's greatest programs of all time

The Tigers are definitively one of college football's best programs of all time.

Auburn is definitively one of college football's best programs of all time.

They may not be top 10, but the Tigers are certainly inside the top 15 across the board.

Brad Crawford of 247Sports decided to put together a list of the nation's 25 all-time best programs, ranked by total points based on AP Poll finishes since 1936.

The Auburn Tigers are No. 14 in the all-time poll with 584 points, just one behind No. 13 Florida State who finished with 585 points.

Here's what Crawford had to say about the Tigers:

"Auburn has twice appeared in the national championship game since 2010, winning it all with an unbeaten season that fall with Heisman winner and future No. 1 pick Cam Newton at quarterback. It's hard to believe head coach Gene Chizik was fired two years later, but such is life in the SEC. Auburn got back to the final game under Gus Malzahn in 2013, winning an SEC Championship along the way. Bryan Harsin was a bad hire who didn't work out and now Hugh Freeze takes over on The Plains."

The Tigers kick off the 2023 season on September 2nd at home vs UMass at 2 p.m. CT on ESPN.
