Freeze speaks on A&M's Stewart: "One of the best I've ever seen"
Auburn will have its work cut out for it on Saturday.
The Tigers travel up to College Station, Texas, to open up conference play against the Texas A&M Aggies.
The Aggies are 2-1, their loss coming in a 48-33 shootout with the Miami Hurricanes on the road. Head coach Jimbo Fisher has a talented roster and a veteran offensive coordinator in Bobby Petrino.
One of the primary offensive weapons for the Aggies is a 6-foot, 175-pound five-star wide receiver, Evan Stewart.
Stewart had a breakout true freshman season for the Aggies in 2022, catching 53 passes for 649 yards and two touchdowns. The 2023 campaign is off to a hot start for the Memphis, Tenn. native. He already has 19 catches for 257 yards and two touchdowns.
"They have great receivers, One of the best I've ever seen in (Evan) Stewart," Freeze said. "He's really talented, and I think they're doing some really good things offensively. They're going to be a great challenge for us to try to keep them under. Hopefully, keeping them from having explosive plays, particularly ones that lead points."
The Aggies are averaging 44 points per game so far this season and eight yards per pass attempt. It will be imperative for Auburn to slow the Aggies down offensively on Saturday, or things could get out of hand.
