Heading into their contest with UMass, Auburn was ranked 32nd in the ESPN FPI rankings, but after the win, they shot up to the 22nd spot.
Last week, Auburn's projected record was 6.1-5.9, and after the great showing against UMass, it's up to 6.9-5.2.
Auburn's chances of winning six games jumped from 63.1% to 78.8% after they routed UMass.
The Tiger's chances of winning the SEC West rose from 1% to 2.8% after the first victory of the Hugh Freeze era.
ESPN's PFI rankings think the Cal Golden Bears will win this upcoming football game, as the Auburn Tigers were only given a 45.1% chance to win this ball game.
This will be a fun West Coast showdown as the SEC takes on the PAC-12. The Auburn Tigers have been historically bad playing in California, so hopefully, that narrative is changed when they head to Berkeley to take on Cal.
If Auburn wants to have a historic season under first-year Coach Hugh Freeze, they need to leave California with a victory.
